Grey Box release patch note 1.0.3


Hey everyone ! It has been a month since the last update. Here are all the changes done during the winter break:

New systems:

Obstacles:

Now, there are some asteroids that can spawn around the player so the map looks less empty. Some are destructible and will drop some scraps.

Level Max Module (WIP):

Now, when you level up an offensive module to max level (Level 5), it will have a slightly different behaviour and will be much powerful. It only applies to the rocket launcher (example below).

Systems adjustements:

Difficulty scaling:

Higher enemy tier no longer spawn with the level of the player. Instead, they will spawn based on the timer (new enemies spawn at 3:00).

Graphics contents:

New ship:

There's a cool placeholder for the ship with a dot in the center. The dot will indicate the amount of HP left as it turns red.



Enemies facing the ship:

A little tweak but still good to have, the enemies now are always facing the player.

Quality Of Life:

There's a quick tuto at your first launch of the game. Yeay !

Balancing:

  • Now, enemies have base health and scale less with the player level. They are a bit stronger in early game and less powerful as your ship levels up.
  • Enemies deal less damage.
  • Maximum enemy limit on the map is now 50.
  • There are more enemy spawner as the timer advance.

For the next update:

I will focus on balance and difficulty curve. I need to break the linear difficulty by adding some enemy wave management. Maybe focus on an end game ?
